カンボジアから5名の代表団が、パキスタンのラホールで金曜日に閉幕したASEAN-パキスタン・ビジネス・チャンス会議2023に出席した。

トレード・クロニクルの報道によると、今回の訪問の主な目的は、ASEAN加盟国とパキスタンとの貿易関係を促進することであった。代表団は7日、ラホールで開催されたASEAN-パキスタン・ビジネス・チャンス会議2023に出席した。会議中、代表団はパキスタンの貿易と投資の可能性について説明を受けた。出席者はまた、パキスタンの重要なビジネス専門家、政府高官、投資・貿易機関の代表者、その他の主要な関係者と会い、ネットワークを構築する機会を得た。
会議後にはB2Bセッションが開催され、代表団は繊維、農業、製薬など様々な分野に属するパキスタンのビジネス・コミュニティと交流した。また、代表団はパンジャブ州の産業ユニットの現地視察も行った。
代表団は8月9日にカラチを訪れ、食品産業におけるパキスタンの可能性を紹介する展示会「FoodAg」に出席した。

今回の訪問は、ASEANとパキスタンの貿易力学に永続的な影響を与え、協力を促すことを目的としていた、とトレード・クロニクルのレポートは述べている。
一方、ビジネス・レコーダーのレポートによると、400以上の生産的な会議が開催され、訪問したアセアン代表団とパキスタン国内の様々なセクターの代表者との直接の会話や交流が促進されたという。
昨年9月、パキスタンのアリフ・アルヴィ大統領は、カンボジアとパキスタンの経済の基幹と見なされている衣料品と繊維部門は、両国間の貿易関係を促進するためにさらに発展させることができると述べた。
報道によると、大統領は、両国間の投資、貿易、ビジネス協力の計り知れない可能性を最大限に実現する必要があると述べた。アルヴィ大統領は、イスラマバードで、ニーク・オクナ・リティ・シアー会長が率いるカンボジアのWorld Bridge Group of Companiesの代表団と会談した後、貿易関係強化の可能性について語った。
