カンボジアの失業率は、昨年の0.4％から2023年には0.3％に低下する見込みであることが、国際労働機関（ILO）のデータに基づいて労働省が日曜日に発表した最新の数字で明らかになった。 この数字によると、カンボジアの失業率は、同程度の経済成長を遂げている国の中で最も低く、タイ、ベトナム、ラオスといった地域の他の国よりも低い。一方、東南アジア諸国連合の平均レベルは、前年の2.6％から2023年には2.4％に下がると推定されている。 「発展途上国の失業率は通常、農業や非正規経済に従事している人が最も多いため低い」と、計画省国立統計研究所は2018年、2019年、2022年、2023年の社会経済調査を実施していないことを付け加えた。 インドネシアの失業率は3.6％から3.3％に低下すると予想され、それによると、日本の失業率は2.6％と同率にとどまると予想され、アジア太平洋地域の低所得国の平均失業率は6.2％から6.3％に上昇すると指摘した。
