ASEAN加盟国の都市知事と市長が、域内の持続可能で包括的かつ強靭な都市開発を促進するための共同宣言に署名した。
共同宣言への署名は、8月1日から2日にかけてインドネシアのジャカルタで開催されたASEAN首都知事・市長会議（MGMAC）とASEAN市長フォーラム（AMF）の中で行われた。
「このイベントには、知事、市長、ASEAN諸国の地域政府代表など約500人が参加した」とベトナム通信は報じた。
ジャカルタのヘル・ブディ・ハルトノ知事代行は結びの挨拶で、共同宣言は持続可能な都市生活を確立するために域内協力を強化することを目的とした合意であり、それによってASEAN共同体の発展を支援するものであると強調した。
代表団は、持続可能な都市開発がASEANの共通目標を強化し、地域経済成長の中心地としてのASEANの地位をさらに高めるとの信念を表明した。
