カンボジアの首都プノンペンと同国最大の深海港であるシアヌークビル自治港を結ぶプノンペン-シアヌークビル（PPSHV）高速道路の監視センターで働くチュン・フイさんは、「また機会があれば、中国伝統医学の治療を受けようと思います」と語った。
プノンペン-シアヌークビル高速道路はカンボジア初の高速道路である。一帯一路構想（BRI）の枠組みのもと、中国がカンボジアで実施するメガプロジェクトのひとつである。この高速道路はカンボジアPPSHV高速道路株式会社によって運営されている。
同社のスタッフの88％はカンボジア人だ。彼らは、高温多湿の職場環境のため、首、肩、腰、脚の痛みや胃腸疾患の多発に直面している。
このような状況を改善するため、中国から派遣された8名の中医学支援チームがカンボジアを訪問し、無料の医療サービスを提供した。合計158人の従業員が中医学の専門家から中医学の診断と治療サービスを受けた。
中国医学科学院広安門病院の優秀な臨床医8名からなる中国伝統医学援助チームは、カンボジアのコロナとの闘いを支援するため、中国がカンボジアに中国伝統医学援助チームを派遣する協定に両国が調印して以来、中国がカンボジアに派遣した2番目の医療専門家チームである。
チームは7月4日にプノンペンに到着し、1年間カンボジアで活動する。
