保健省は昨日、プノンペンでサル痘に感染した男性が発見されたと発表した。
セン・ソック地区トエック・スラコミューンのペセイ村に住む28歳の男性は、11月30日に性器いぼに似た症状が現れ、その後首の右側、頬、前腕、脚に広がったため、月曜日に国立公衆衛生研究所で検査を受けた。
この男性はサル痘ウイルスの陽性反応が出たため、病院に隔離されたが、同省は声明の中でこの男性がどこで感染したのかは明らかにしていない。
同省は次のように述べている「保健省の緊急対応チームは現在、当局と協力して感染源を特定し、地域社会での感染を防ぐために他の疑い例を特定するとともに、男性が居住する村で健康教育キャンペーンを実施している。」
伝染病管理局のリ・ソバン局長からのコメントは得られなかった。
同省は医療従事者に対し、これ以上の感染を防ぐため、病院や保健センターで予防・管理対策を実施し、特にサル痘の症状が疑われる患者には警戒を怠らず、隔離するよう勧告している。
このウイルスは、性的接触、傷口や体液との直接接触、患者の所持品との接触や使用を通じて人から人へ感染する。
予防措置として、同省はコンドームを使用した性行為を行い、複数のパートナーを避けることを推奨している。サル痘の症状がある人との接触を避け、患者と物を共有せず、症状がある人の近くにいる場合はマスクを着用すること。また、定期的に石鹸やアルコールで手を洗うこと。
同省はまた、サル痘が疑われる、あるいは確認された人は隔離するよう勧告している。症状のある人は、医師に相談しウイルス検査を受けるか、115に電話し相談すること。
公衆衛生の専門家であるクワック・メンリー博士は、プノンペンでのサル痘の発見に懸念を示し、この病気はカンボジアではまれであると指摘した。
同博士は、「カンボジアではサル痘による死亡例は報告されていないものの、性交渉や体液、患者との直接的な接触によってウイルスが感染するため、特に地域社会におけるウイルスの蔓延防止には十分注意する必要がある」と述べた。
衛生対策によってウイルスの蔓延を防ぐだけでなく、ワクチンも存在する。
