カンボジアの保険業界は2023年第3四半期に8,730万ドルの保険料を記録し、前年同期の8,500万ドルから2.6％増加したことが、昨日発表されたカンボジア保険監督庁（IRC）の報告書で明らかになった。

この伸びを牽引したのは、損害保険会社18社、生命保険会社14社、零細保険会社7社、再保険会社1社、保険ブローカー20社、法人代理店34社、損害調査会社である。

今年第3四半期の損害保険総保険料は3720万ドルで、前年同期比8.74％の増加であった。

一方、生命保険料は2.4％減の4,810万ドル、マイクロ保険料は28.3％増の190万ドルに達した。

同報告書によると、保険会社から支払われた保険金総額は1,700万ドルで、前年の1,280万ドルから33.5％増加した。

報告書によると、カンボジアの保険部門の総資産は今年第3四半期時点で10億6,000万ドルで、前年同期比で9％増加した。

経済財務省の国務長官であり、ノンバンク金融サービス機構理事会の副議長であるロス・セイラバ氏は最近、保険部門は過去20年間で大幅な成長を遂げたと述べた。

「さらなる成長を阻む主な障害は、保険のメリットに関する国民の認識が著しく低いことである。この問題は、保険の価値を効果的に伝えるために、一般の人々への働きかけや教育活動を強化する必要がある」と述べた。

IRCによると、保険料の上昇は、保険セクターが同国の国内総生産（GDP）に年間約1.17％貢献していることから、同国の市場の強さを反映している。

同国の保険密度は1人当たり約20.53ドルで、保険部門が将来的に発展する可能性が高いことを示している。

IRCは、2030年までに保険料率を5.5％、保険料率を一人当たり135ドルにするという目標を掲げている。この目標を達成するためには、すべてのステークホルダーが国民意識向上キャンペーンを行い、人材の能力を強化しなければならない。
