カンボジア首相、米国投資家の前でカンボジアを売り込む

カンボジア政府は、米国の投資家を惹きつけるために強力な呼びかけを行い、起業や事業拡大の支援を約束し、政府の開発努力における重要なパートナーとなった。
この呼びかけは、フン・マネ首相が金曜日にニューヨークで開催されたカンボジア・米国ビジネスフォーラムの冒頭の挨拶で行った。

「米国の投資家は投資機会を目にし、カンボジアの経済的な可能性についてより多くを学ぶでしょう」と首相は述べた。

カンボジア商工会議所（CCC）と米国商工会議所（US Chamber of Commerce）が共同で開催したこのフォーラムは、カンボジアと米国のビジネス関係者が互いに学び、協力の機会を見出すための出会いの場となるよう企画された。
同フォーラムでは、カンボジアと米国が相互尊重と共通の価値観に基づいて関係を強化することの重要性が強調された。首相は、政治、経済、社会的側面を含むカンボジアの詳細な説明と、投資家のために新政府の政策を説明した。

「カンボジアは、ASEAN自由貿易協定、カンボジア・中国自由貿易協定、カンボジア・韓国自由貿易協定、地域包括的経済連携（RCEP）などの二国間および多国間の自由貿易協定を通じて、世界のサプライチェーンやバリューチェーンに統合することで、市場規模を拡大し続けています」と述べた。

CCCのリム・ヘン副社長は、「首相がフォーラムに参加し、米国企業と会談することは、より多くの米国企業をカンボジアに誘致することに貢献するでしょう」と述べた。

「カンボジアとアメリカは、ボーイング社を含む数十社のアメリカ企業が参加するビジネスフォーラムを開催し、さらに、カンボジアのビジネス代表団は、カンボジアから商品の発注を行うビジネスマンや企業」とも会談を行った。
これはビジネス関係を強化し、アメリカ市場へのカンボジアの輸出を促進することができる。アメリカはカンボジアの輸出にとって最大の市場である。カンボジアの主な対米輸出品目は、アパレル、服飾雑貨、皮革、旅行用品、ハンドバッグ、電気機械器具、履物であり、アメリカからは自動車、機械器具、医療器具、医薬品を輸入している。

カンボジアでは、米国からの直接投資額は2010年の2億2,500万ドルから2022年には8億9,300万ドルに増加した。「Ford、Coca-Cola、Tiffany、General Electricなど、カンボジアに投資するアメリカの多国籍企業は、カンボジア市場の成長とカンボジア国民の所得向上を反映している。」と首相は述べた。
