12月25日、中国、カンボジア、ラオス、ミャンマー、タイ、ベトナムを含む瀾滄江・メコン協力6カ国の首脳は、経済・社会協力を深めるための5カ年行動計画（2023-2027年）を共同で承認した。「Join Hands on the Building of a Community of Shared Future and Modernization 」をテーマに事実上開催された第4回瀾滄江・メコン協力首脳会議において、中国、カンボジア、ラオス、ミャンマー、タイ、ベトナムを含む瀾滄江・メコン協力6カ国の首脳は、経済・社会協力を深めるための5カ年行動計画を共同で承認した。2016年に開始された瀾滄江・メコン協力メカニズムは、6カ国間の生活向上と統合的な開発を促進するための主要な手段として機能している。国境を越えた投資が瀾滄江・メコン川流域で急増し続け、技術主導の水資源管理がメコンの流域全体のガバナンスに勢いを生み出している。

アジアにおける瀾滄江・メコン地域の実質的な発展の可能性を考慮すれば、回廊はまた、一帯一路構想の下での質の高い開発協力のエンジンにもなり得る。一帯一路構想プロジェクトは、製造業、農業、教育、金融、医療分野にまたがるデジタル変革の実践の交流にますます焦点が当てられている。これは、瀾滄江メコン諸国が国境を越えた資源ガバナンスを推進するための教訓を引き出すことに引き続き意欲的であり、質の高い一帯一路構想協力を推進し、瀾滄江・メコン協力イノベーション回廊のための専用の「会議メカニズム」を模索する意思を改めて表明していることを意味する。
