カンボジアの一人当たりGDPは、2023年の約1,917ドルから、2024年には2,071ドルに達すると、経済財務省が土曜日に発表した。衣料品輸出、観光、建設、農業のおかげで、カンボジア経済は今年の約5.6％から、来年は6.6％成長すると予測されている。
東南アジアのこの国は、2015年以来、中所得以下の経済国に分類されている。
土曜日にプノンペンで行われた数千人の縫製工場労働者との懇親会で、フン・マネ首相は「2030年までに上位中所得、2050年までに高所得を目指す」と述べた。
世界銀行の分類によると、上位中所得国は一人当たりGDPが4,466ドルから13,845ドルで、高所得国は13,846ドル以上である。
一方、フン・マネ首相は、2009年から2019年までの10年間で、カンボジアの貧困率は33.8％から17.8％へと著しく低下し、200万人近くのカンボジア人が貧困を脱したと述べた。
カンボジアの人口は約1,700万人。世界銀行によると、貧困ライン以下で生活する人々は、10,951リエルまたは2.7ドル以下の収入によって定義される。
